Do you want to support the conservation efforts to save sea turtles? Our ABV Volunteer programs allow you to work with local organizations committed to sea turtle education, tracking and research of the sea turtle population. If you want to help a cause-focused on endangered animals, this is a program for you.
Previous experience is a plus but is not required to join one of our programs. You will be part of a small team of local staff and community leaders and work together.
Volunteers live and work directly on the beach. Be part of the daily research efforts and watch the turtles in their natural habitat. Volunteers support the work of the local conservationist and help to educate the local public about the importance of the care of the sea turtles. Volunteers tasks include::
This program is not for the faint of heart. You will be living and working at the project which is a rural beach location. This program includes light manual labor jobs like digging and moving nests. This is a challenging program. There are odd work hours, primitive living conditions, cabana living accommodations, however, the setting cannot be beaten. We also have internships for 12 weeks where you will work side to side with veterinaries and scientists helping in the gathering of data, hands-on experience and supervision of other volunteers.
If you’re not sure how to give back or what group to join but you want to join up with a project you’re definitely going to love this one. It gets you right in touch with nature and the beautiful animals that we share our planet with.
