I had a wonderful time in Nepal with the “Divas Abroad group” and A Broader View. I had never been to Asia before and getting to connect with the culture and the people was an eye opening and humbling experience.
1. How would you describe/rate the support provided by our in-country Coordinator
We had great support from our hosts and coordinator. They were very helpful in teaching us about key information about the Nepali culture, making recommendations and providing us with creative comforts from North America in their house.
2. What is your favorite memory of your trip?
My favorite memory was learning an authentic Nepali dance with our group & the host. We had lots of fun & lots laughter.
3. What was most personally challenging aspect of this program for you?
The language barrier was the most challenging. I found harder to connect with the Nepali women, we had a translator.
4. Any tips for future volunteers… (Clothing, supplies, packing etc)
Pack warm clothes and socks for the night and early morning. Scarves can be used for anything.
