Nepal is fantastic, the people and the program experience I had here was amazing, I probably remember them for the rest of my life.
Volunteer Nepal
How was the local Coordinator and the staff and the support provided in-country?
The local coordinator and staff were fantastic; the family I stayed with was the nicest people I have ever met. I couldn’t have image anything better what is it like.
What was the most surprising thing you experienced while in the program?
I didn’t experience anything surprising because I have travelled a lot in developing countries as well as I know many Nepalese people and Indian friend before I came to Nepal
What was most difficult thing you experienced while in the program?
The most difficult thing I experienced during the program would have to be setting a time for me to go work and for how long and because I am not a very organized person so it was little bit challenge for me.
Any tips for future volunteers….(clothing, travel information, packing, sightseeing, donations)
If anyone is donating any stuff then I would recommend donating much more than what you are thinking to bring because here are so many people are in need of everything and anything. You can email the coordinator for more guidance on it.
Personal paragraph (volunteer program testimonial):
Nepal is fantastic, the people and the program experience I had here was amazing, I probably remember them for the rest of my life. It exceeded my expectations. I recommend you to travel to Pokhara not just stay in Kathmandu, it’s very touristic and you will meet lot of people from around the world, you can go for boat ride or paragliding and go to lumbini if you are interested in Buddhism, it’s the place where Lord Buddha was born and go visit the Monasteries and Chitwan for Jungle safari and hiking . I will remember this trip for the years to come. Nepal has become one of my favorite places to travel , I plan to come back in the future.
