Volunteer Name: Charli Cohen
Project Location: Nepal - Kathmandu
Volunteered at: Orphanage, Farm, and Hospital
My favorite memory of this trip was volunteering at the Farm. It was so incredible to see how quickly the children picked up on whatever was being taught in class.
The most difficult thing I experienced was adjusting to the child labor that exists there. It was so sad to see children working instead of going to school and getting an education.
I wish I felt more prepared for my initial exit from the Nepal airport. I had no idea there would be so many people trying to convince me to go in a taxi with them.
Go to Chitawan!!
The ABV staff was so helpful and attentive! I loved how quickly I got responses to my thousands of questions.
I felt safe and comfortable in my host family house.
My local coordinator was extremely helpful and always willing to answer my questions.
ABV gave me a chance to experience the world.
I have a new appreciation for everything in my life, yet am inspired to help make the world a better place. I loved experiencing the welcoming and bright energy from the people of Nepal. They made me feel so welcomed and were so appreciative for my help.
I would love to talk with future ABV volunteers!
