1- How was the local ABV Coordinator and the support provided in-country?
They were great. Anytime I had a problem, they would answer their phones and give me exactly the answers I needed.
2- What was the most surprising thing you experienced?
How much Centro de Salud allowed me to do! It was great.
3- What was most difficult to experience?
Speaking Spanish. Very hard to understand people sometimes.
4- Any tips for future volunteers… (clothing, travel, personal items, donations)
Dress warm! It´s freezing in Xela. Bring clothes that can get dirty.
6- Personal Paragraph (ABV Program Testimonial):
I loved my time in Xela! My host family was great. At the beginning, they made sure that I felt comfortable as I made my transition into Xela. And after, they became my good friends. I met some great people, did awesome trips, and had an amazing time volunteering!
7- How would you describe your accommodation, meals, security (e: host family, on-site, shared)
Everything was great. I do not like the food here at all, but nothing we can do about that. My family gave me everything I needed!
8- What was your favorite memory of this trip?
Working at the Centro de Salud! Loved every moment. So cool!
