I just wanted to thank everyone for this incredible experience. I will never forget the love that I was shown this week it was unforgettable. This volunteer trip has confirmed my passion for working with kids and helping others. This was not a one week program for me, I am going to forever hold the kids in my heart and hopefully come back in the near future and if not help from afar.
1. How would you describe/rate the support provided by our in-country Coordinator & staff?
They explain to us where help was needed/what needed work on and said it was an open door policy, if we had any questions/concerns. You could tell they love their jobs and were passionate about it.
2. What is your favorite memory of your trip?
I honestly have so many but I think right when we arrived to the orphanage really set the stage for a great week. The kids were so warm and welcoming immediately they were so genuine, always with big smiles on their faces.
3. What was most personally challenging aspect of this program for you?
I think personally I felt like I wanted to somehow help more either around the orphanage or something more with the kids. I found throughout the week however that just being present \was good in and of itself.
4. Any tips for future volunteers… (clothing, sightseeing spots, tours, packing etc)
Do the snorkeling /starfish Island to see some more of Belize. Bring an extra blanket and lots of bug spary!
